First Birthday

Look how little bitty he was!

Garrett has to go down in history as the first kid who ate his first birthday cake with a spoon.  I was so committed to him having his first taste of sugar on his birthday, but didn't think that he would want to touch it if he'd never had it before.  (This was really the beginning of the food battles with this child)

But once he got a taste of it (and Jason rooted around a bit in his cake), he got into the spirit of it!

Yeah, he got into all right.

Harper got to celebrate her first birthday (late) at Fripp. We were in the middle of moving when her actual birthday hit, so we took advantage of the fact that she was only one and wouldn't know any better!  She did enjoy the crown!

This was while we were singing! Love this face-that's our girl.

She was not as hesitant about getting in to her cake.

"Here Bubba, have some."

Seriously, how cute is this little girl?!?!
