My new motto

While Jason was traveling this week, I took advantage of total control of the TV to finish watching Season 2 of Downton Abbey.  OMG, is this a fabulous show.  You can watch season 1 on Netflix streaming and you should do so.  It sounds crazy, but it really is so, so good.

Anyway, my favorite character on the show is the Dowager Countess, played by Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall in Harry Potter).  She is absolutely hilarious!  Her character was having a conversation with a rather uptight (even for an English dude) gentleman who is engaged to one of the earl's daughters.  His fiancee was playing charades and he was remarking to her grandmother (Maggie Smith's character) that he wondered if they were going to be required to play more games which require the players to look ridiculous.  And she said to him "Life is a game which requires its players to appear ridiculous."

I love it!  I want it on a T-shirt.  It's officially my new motto.
