Allison is now in the hospital room, and pretty much out of it. She's somewhat awake, but pretty groggy. Right now, she can only speak in a whisper (good news for me :-) )...
Good news - The incision is smaller than what I thought it would be (about 2-3 inches). It does not go from ear to ear (how I imagined it). Right now, it's only covered with surgical tape, and her neck is not covered in a huge swath of bandages. Apparently I made the right decision by not going to medical school...
I've taken some pictures that will probably be deleted before any of you see them...
More later when she's awake and able to dictate.
